Artist's Statement

The process of producing art can be an arena of rich experience, especially when exploring the universal human condition. Such examinations have the satisfactory result of informing life in ever more meaningful ways. After a career in education, Sally Ordile applied this exploration to art in the early 1990's. Her first exhibit was in 2002 at the Palm Beach Institute of Contemporary Art.

"14 Stations" symbolizes woman, who, finding sanctuary in denial, walks the street of self-sacrifice and humiliation.

The twisted strands of the "Threads" pieces, seen here, are a part of a larger series exploring inner distress that is struggling to sustain composure by sheltering in confining 'safe-boxes' of black.

"The Woman's Room" is a space that is both silent and deafening. The serigraphs speak to internal conflicts that find resolution in compliant retreat.
